Dear Friends,

This week’s newsletter is proudly sponsored by Frisco Square, one of the most exciting developments taking place in Frisco, which I get to experience first-hand every day since I live and work there. Also check out this week’s spotlight on FC Dallas and Pizza Hut Park. I’ve seen a number of games and a few concerts at Pizza Hut Park and not only is it a beautiful facility but the personnel are great. Plus I love that it is right across the street from where I have lived for the past year! A lot of work goes into putting this newsletter together and I greatly appreciate the support of our sponsors so please patronize them wherever possible.

If you would like to advertise in this newsletter and reach more than 35,000 captive residents and businesses in Frisco and the surrounding communities, many different opportunities are available to you. It’s the most efficient and cost effective form of advertising in this area so please email sales@mattlafatamarketing.com for more information.

Please forward this newsletter to all your friends and neighbors and encourage them to sign up to receive it themselves. They will greatly appreciate you for it as no citizen should be without this important information at their fingertips.

Don’t forget that Randy’s Steakhouse on Main Street in Frisco is offering 20% off an entrée until midnight October 14 for newsletter readers only. Just stop by and mention you read about them in this newsletter. I went there for dinner this past weekend and it was great as always. Great food and great service so take advantage of this great offer while it lasts.

The Great Steak of Texas event takes place this weekend in Frisco Square. Visit www.greatsteakoftexas.com for more information on this great event.

The Texas Tornado hockey team plays its first home games of the year on October 6 and October 7 at the Dr Pepper StarCenter here in Frisco. Visit www.tornadohockey.com or call 972-335-9800 for more information and tickets.

As the sun gets lower in the sky, it continues to get more difficult to see when driving in the morning or early evening. Please be extra careful when driving, especially in our neighborhoods and around our schools as kids most likely don’t know how difficult it is for you to see and you may not see them crossing the street or walking along the side of the street until it is too late. The best thing any of us can do, really at any time, is to slow down when driving through our neighborhoods and stay alert at all times.

Congratulations to David Weeks for getting the Jack-FM trivia question correct in last week’s newsletter. David won himself two great tickets to last Friday’s Rangers game. At the last minute, I was handed two suite tickets for Jeff Foxworthy last Friday night as well and congratulations to Bill Figueroa for also getting the question right and winning those tickets. Watch for more ticket trivia contests in the future from Jack FM. Thank you to everybody for playing as well. Got lots of interesting answers to the question, “What do Queen and Duran Duran have in common?” The answer I was looking for is that they both have band members named Roger Taylor, both play the drums, and there is no relation.

If you have questions or have any community events, people or groups you want to recognize, fundraising events, or any newsworthy items you would like to see added and shared with more than thirty-five thousand residents and businesses in Frisco and the surrounding areas, please send them to me at matt@mattlafata.com so I may include them. The newsletter goes out each Thursday and I need materials by the end of the day on the preceding Wednesday if you want something to be included.

Spotlight on FC Dallas and Pizza Hut Park:

This interview took place with Michael Hitchcock, President and General Manager of FC Dallas…

So Michael, you've been in Pizza Hut Park for just over a year, what have been the highlights over that time? What do you see looking forward over the next year?

When we look back at our first year, we've had the pleasure of welcoming over a million visitors to Pizza Hut Park.  We're the only Stadium in the Country who hosted 10 Mexican First Division teams plus 3 World Cup teams as part of their World Cup Preparation.  We hosted the biggest and best concerts in the Metroplex this summer.  We co-hosted with the City of Frisco a great 4th of July Celebration.  We've hosted the best youth soccer tournament in the world, Dallas Cup.  We've co-hosted with FISD, Great High School Football games.  We're the home to the best Major League Soccer Team in the Country.  We will host the MLS Cup twice, which is the "Super Bowl of Soccer" and the biggest professional soccer event in America...plus hundreds of other events.  We've had a lot of great events and the support from the community has been outstanding. So to me, there are a million highlights and they're the million visitors who have visited Pizza Hut Park for one of our world class soccer games, amazing concerts or community events.  And what's most exciting is that the events coming to Pizza Hut Park are going to be bigger and better each and every year.  This community will be proud of your Pizza Hut Park.

Michael, I know how to find you since I live across the street but for the benefit of those who don’t know, wow does someone find you?

We encourage everyone from Frisco to attend one of our great events.

Our Offices are at PIZZA HUT PARK, so don't be a stranger and stop by to visit us. Or you can call 1-888-FCD-GOAL.  Or visit us on the web, www.fcdallas.net or www.pizzahutpark.com.

Everybody loves a special. Any special offers for newsletter readers?

MLS Cup is coming to Frisco and Pizza Hut Park on Nov 12th.  This will be one of the biggest sporting events in Dallas this year.  And your FC Dallas is in First Place as we head down the stretch run and into the Playoffs.  The Cup Sold Out last year and we're expecting the game to sell out again this year.  As a token of our appreciation to Frisco Residents, Collin County employees and City of Frisco employees, for your outstanding support of FC Dallas and Pizza Hut Park, you can reserve tickets to this great event thru an exclusive pre sale before it goes on sale to the Public.

{Dear Readers, please see information on this special offer later in the newsletter. For those who don’t follow soccer, the MLS cup is equivalent to the Superbowl in Football so this is a huge event that is going to take place right here in Frisco and be broadcast on national TV.}

Ok, since I love music so much, and have enjoyed the concerts you have had so far, tell us about your concerts and what's in store in the near future?

When we built PIZZA HUT PARK, we knew we had a world class soccer venue. What we've since realized, is that we also have a world class Concert venue. The feedback from the artists and their management teams has been overwhelmingly positive.  We have the best concert venue in the metroplex, in your backyard.  We had a very successful inaugural concert season.  Meaning, we're going to be able to book the biggest and best concerts every summer.  '07 is going to be a great concert season and that's all I can share with you now.  Stay tuned!

That’s great! I am really looking forward to more concerts next year. Michael, besides soccer and concerts, what else can people experience at Pizza Hut Park?

We're very proud to have High School Football games featuring FISD schools, every Fall.  We've hosted a number of great community events including a 5k Family Fun Run, the 343 Memorial Climb (to raise money for families of firefighters who have died in the line of duty), a Kicks for Kids World Cup and Kicks for Kids Easter Egg Hunt (to benefit Inner City and disadvantaged Youth), Enduro in the Park and others.  We also host Viewing Parties for Major Sporting events in our Verizon Wireless Club, which can be rented for Private Parties and Social events.  And in '07, we're planning on hosting additional Family events and Festivals.

Anything else our readers should know about FC Dallas or Pizza Hut Park?

We work very hard to bring the best athletes and musicians to Frisco. We want to provide world class sports and entertainment to the great residents of the great city of Frisco in your backyard!

If you haven't made it to an FC Dallas game, you're missing the best value in professional sports.  FC Dallas is having our best season in franchise history. For $10 (Tickets start at only $10), you can see world class Soccer in a great venue.  We have 1 Regular season game left on Oct 7th vs. LA, then the Playoffs.  It's fun for the whole family.  Don't miss it!

Thanks again to everyone for your outstanding support of FC Dallas and Pizza Hut Park.  We look forward to seeing everyone at the Park for an upcoming event.  Don't be a stranger!

Table of Contents:

Because this newsletter continues to grow in size (there is just so much going on around here and I think this is the longest newsletter to date!), I have added a table of contents. It’s not a clickable table of contents, yet, it is simply a listing, in order, of everything in this newsletter. For those of you who submit things to me to be added to the newsletter, you may want to consider using descriptive titles for your submission in the future, otherwise I will continue to make them up..

DeBonair Custom Cleaning is Celebrating Their One Year Anniversary!:

The DeBonair team would like to sincerely thank all of our loyal Frisco clients for inviting us into your home and giving us an opportunity to create a healthier and cleaner environment for you and your family.

During this past year, we have certainly learned what clients want and what they do not want in regards to a cleaning service.  Some of the most common concerns heard while visiting potential clients are:

* My service breaks things and does not tell me

* My service does not show up when they are supposed to

* My service uses the wrong products on my surfaces and causes damage

* My service does not provide employees that speak English and I can’t communicate with them

* My service does not put things back in their correct place

* My service sends too many people into my home to clean

The owner of DeBonair, Debbie Childers, has listened to these concerns and worked hard to develop a more customized and personalized approach tailored to our client’s specific needs and requests.

A customized list regarding your cleaning expectations and needs are developed while the owner visits with you in your home.  An agreed upon amount of time to spend cleaning your home is determined by the client and DeBonair owner before the cleaning is started.  Reminder calls and follow-up calls are standard procedure at DeBonair.

All employees speak English and are U.S. citizens.  Reference and background checks are conducted on all employees.

DeBonair uses Oreck Vacuum cleaners as well as cleaning materials for your homes specific needs and requirements.

If you are interested in a one-time, bi-monthly or monthly cleaning service, please contact Debbie Childers at 214-886-2588 or email debonair-cleaning@sbcglobal.net to schedule an appointment.  More information at can be found at: www.debonaircustomcleaning.com

Frisco Community Band Great Steak of Texas Concert:

September 30, 2006 from 10:30am to 12pm at Frisco Square

Come join the Frisco Community Band and Jazz Band as we help celebrate the Great Steak of Texas!  The Great Steak of Texas is a City of Frisco tradition celebrating the heritage of the beef and cattle industries.  The Frisco Community and Jazz Bands will be sharing in this celebration by performing many wonderful music selections from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 30th.

Along with the band performances, the Great Steak of Texas will have its 3rd annual steak cook-off and many events for families with children, including pony rides and arts and crafts.  Parking is free and there is an entrance fee to the event of $5 per person.

Karen Strauss, Vice President of Public Relations for the Frisco Community Band, says the band is looking forward to performing at the Great Steak of Texas.  “It’s wonderful that the City of Frisco has organized such fun events, and invited us to participate.  We are hoping for a great turn-out!”

The Frisco Community Band was formed in Spring 2004 as a non-profit, all volunteer organization benefiting the City of Frisco and its neighboring communities. The band provides local musicians with the opportunity to expand or continue their experience in the performing arts with the ultimate purpose of making live, symphonic and ensemble music accessible to all segments of the community.

The Frisco Community Band is funded by grants from the Frisco Association of the Arts and Target, also by donations and member dues. All area musicians with at least high school experience are welcome and there are no auditions for the Concert Band. Performances are free to the public.
